This is my Unconventional Materials Challange piece. My unconventional material was a large wooden box. Along with the box my piece also used: paint, clay, tile, sharpie, fabric, as well as hot glue. At first I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with this box. But after I broke down the box into strips of wood and nails I finally figured out what I wanted to make. I settled on recreating the iconjc shower scene from Robert Bloch's Psycho. I decided to do this scene because I love horror movies and when I broke apart the box, the inner corner reminded me of a shower stall. One of my biggest concerns was when I watered down the paint on the wall to give it a white-washed look. I had never used that technique before so I was really pleased at how it turned out.
