I labeled this picture "Gretel Leaving the Witch's House" because I was trying to draw Gretel walking away from the witch's house after Hansel and Gretel pushed her into the oven. Being that the authors of the story were German I tried to incorporate traditional German clothing into the picture hence Gretel's style of dress and the braid/ bun in her hair. My favorite part of the piece is either the screws on the door or Gretel's hair because I think they turned out really good. Two things I think i still need to work on are proportions and making my shading look smooth. Although, the streak-y look of the shading actually worked for this picture because it ended up looking like wood grains on a door.
