- Who is Bryant Holsenbeck?
Bryant Holsenbeck is an artist who incorporates recycled materials into her art.
- What are your expectations?
My expectations for this project is to learn new techniques in sculpture making and learning to look at old materials in a different way.
- How do you think the project will go?
I think the project will go really well and I think everyone will have fun doing it.
- What animal are you planning to make and why?
The animal I plan to make is a hedgehog because I really want a hedgehog and I also think that trying to make one from recycled materials will be a cool challenge.
After the Visit:
- How did your expectations line up?
With this project I learned new techniques using wires and it inspired me to want to create more projects with recycled materials.
- What were some of the struggles you had with the piece and how did you problem solve?
My most difficult problem with my piece was figuring out how to form the spikes on the hedgehog. Ms. Sudkampt, Ms. Holsenbeck and I tried various methods for trying to create the spikes on the hedgehog but in the end, I cut fabric and layered it so the the "spikes" would stick up.
- What were some of your successful pieces in you art?
I think my most successful piece in my art was the wire frame before my hedgehog got overly fat and I also really liked the way the spikes ended up.
This is my favorite piece of artwork by Bryant Holesenbeck.
This is the animal I'm planning to make.
This is the wire frame that I used to make my hedgehog.
These are pictures of my final project.
